The above photo was taken by Leanna Chamish. I always like to give a shout out to our buddy Don Dohler, who passed on a few years back. He was instrumental in the low-budget independent film industry, and gave such people as J.J. Abrams their start. Happy birthday Don. You are sincerely missed.

Next week we start production of Smash or Trash TV, which of course means this next week will be crazy. We have some great guests lined up and are working on getting film clips and such. Frank Lama and I want this to be a well rounded show that really hits the target audience between the eyes. That will take some work and tweaking, especially for the fist couple of episodes. We look forward to you all tuning in!

Smash or Trash Independent Film-making.tv – coming soon…
0 Comments Published November 9th, 2010 in About This Site, Current News and EventsThis television program is in the works. Three initial episodes will be produced in January with several guests and guest hosts. The focus will be to bring attention to talented indie filmmakers, as well as helping all filmmakers make better films on a limited budget. It will start with regional East Coast movie makers, and with some good will it will continue and branch out world-wide. The format will include interviews, reviews of independent movies, and how to do super movies with limited means. It will be produced by Frank Anthony Lama (Fear of Clowns movie series, Swarm of the Snakehead) and the host will be Robert Long II (Founder of Smash or Trash Independent Film-making).
UPDATE: Had a 4 hour meeting with Producer Frank Lama last Saturday, and it went great! We went over the list of possible guests, topics, themes, and format. This is an exciting opportunity that we hope comes to fruition! If the schedule works out we will be going behind the scenes of filmmaker Kevin Kangas’ new movie GARDEN OF HEDON – too cool. More details as they are available.
Coming up: Reviews, reviews, reviews!!! Guest reviewer Amanda Reyes will be giving us the breakdown of “Lovin’ Fool” the latest episode of the Adventures of Louanna Lee. I will be getting up the reviews for Erik Kristopher Myer’s ROULETTE, Endlight Entertainment’s NINJAS VS VAMPIRES, and Robert Hatari’s THE MURDER GAME.
There is much more coming down the pike, so stay tuned!
Ninjas versus Vampires Premiere on Halloween Weekend!
0 Comments Published October 25th, 2010 in Current News and EventsI was just given the very sad news that accomplished independent actor Don Leifert has passed away today. He was a classic- trained performer that had studied in England. His first major film role was in Don Dohler’s 1977 ALIEN FACTOR. He went on to star and appear in several genre movies, including Fiend, Nightbeast, Galaxy Invader, Blood Massacre, Blood Boobs & Beast, and the yet-to-be-released CRAWLER. He is probably best remembered for playing the title role in the Gothic horror movie FIEND. In his later years he was a high school English teacher and also served as the producer and director for many musicals and plays.
Our thoughts, respects and prayers go out to his family.
