Synopsis: A deranged orphaned little girl becomes obsessed with a mutant, growing crab and finds that they can read each others minds. years later the crab takes to decimating the citizens of a small town, and it’s up to the local sheriff (Ken Van Sant) to take it out!

QC 5

Brett Piper does it again! This movie is a howl from start to finish. We get a a strange but pretty woman obsessed with a crab, a jerk of a deputy, a stalwart sheriff, scientists, and a whole town of drunk hicks ready to take on the monster. Brilliant!

QC 1

The effects are done old school, and I love that. No 3D CGI here and it is all the better for it! And the cover does NOT lie – at one point in the movie the crab does go up against a tank and some jet fighters! Honesty in advertising!

QC 3

They try to paint it to where the girl (Michelle Simone Miller) is the “hero” but I don’t buy it; she totally has some screws loose. I side more with the sheriff character. There are some great locales and the production values are top notch. Explosions, destruction, car chases, fights and blood and guts are all on display.

QC 4

The DVD comes with a fantastic commentary track. The viewer gets the sense that making the film for the cast and crew was an incredible amount of fun. There is also a blooper reel and a behind the scenes featurette.

FINAL RATING – 10/10 CRAB LEGS. I don’t give out solid 10s often, but this movie is entertaining and fun from start to finish and Brett Piper delivers the goods with this one. You can pick up the movie HERE.
