The November 2011 Update (by Kevin Bishop)
0 Comments Published November 14th, 2011 in Current News and EventsWelcome to a small update from Smash or trash Indie Filmmaking. Our intrepid leader (Robert Long) is still on sabbatical until the 1st of the new year, but he said it was cool to post about a few things in the works. It’s his birthday on the 14th so wish him a happy one!
Special effects artist and prop maker Brian Munger has been keeping busy in the San Francisco Bay area. He and his custom built Stormtrooper suite are appearing in the new Star Wars video game commercial. Brian is the Stormtrooper in all the scenes with a case and coffee. Click HERE.
Munger also has appeared live on stage as Darth Vader with Weird Al Yankovic.
Next on the list is that Corey William’s SENIOR CUT DAY has a brand new, action-packed TRAILER up. This looks to be along the lines of senior high school students meet up with backwoods heavies. This looks to be interesting. The movie has a premiere date of Thursday December 8, 2011 at the Landmark Theatres in Baltimore, MD. For tickets and information go HERE.
Endlight Entertainment was very successful with their Kickstarter campaign for NINJAS VS MONSTERS and it looks like production will start in the Spring. The third and final film of the trilogy has the ninjas going up against Dracula, Frankenstein, the Werewolf, the Mummy, and Witches. The premise sounds like a lot of fun. We’ll keep you posted as more information becomes available.
Lee Doll Film Productions are busy working on their second movie based on the character of THE FIXER. The main character will be played by actor Paul Seiber. Alfred Guy returns as Yeb-Beb and George Stover guest stars as the villain. Jeff Herberger has put together a trailer for the new movie that you can view HERE.
Help Complete the Trilogy – Donate to Ninjas vs Monsters!
0 Comments Published October 29th, 2011 in Current News and Events“Dracula, Frankenstein’s Monster, the Mummy, the Werewolf, and a swarm of classic monsters unite to take on the heroic Ninjas in a battle for the fate of the world. It’s going to be bloody, funny, heart-stopping fun as we bring the “Ninjas Vs” Trilogy to a close…”
Sounds like a cool premise for a movie – right? Well the guys and gals at Endlight Entertainment know what they are doing. They have already come out with the award-winning “Ninjas vs Zombies” and “Ninjas vs Vampires” and are looking to finish the trilogy with “Ninjas vs Monsters.” They need your help in order to do it!
They have an ambitious goal through kickstarter.com, and it is all within their reach. People can donate as little as $5 towards the movie. I donated at the $20 level, because that’s where the incentives get interesting! Click HERE to get the full info and details. As of today thre are only 6 days left on their fundraiser. Help these young filmmakers fulfill their trilogy dream – you will not be disappointed!
HAPPY HALLOWEEN from Smash or Trash!
Smash or Trash gets revamped in 2012

From Smash or Trash creator Robert Long: “I probably will stay in the independent movie biz, as well as doing the show and the site. I am taking a couple of months off from it all, and will get back to it in January of 2012. Part of it is to get healthy, the other is I have other obligations (see the painting above) and such that need to be addressed. There will be some changes though. I only want to focus on the site, the show, and my indie projects. In order to get the time that means I have had to cut off working on other people’s projects. There is more to say but there is work to do. Email me if you would like details. Thank you for your continued interest and support.”

Phil Cook’s MALICE (2012) comes to the web
1 Comment Published September 25th, 2011 in Current News and Events
Phil Cook is a Virginia-based filmmaker (Eagle Films) that has produced several incredible science fiction movies (Despiser, Outerworld, Invader). He now takes a turn into Gothic horror with MALICE. The story is a family moves into a house occupied by their recently deceased grandmother. On moving day the two daughters discover that the home sits next to a cemetary, and there is a feeling of dread that is in the atmosphere. As the family tries to get used to the house, there is SOMETHING in the air grates – watching them.
I encourage everyone to check out the sneak preview of this web series coming in 2012. It is so well done, so creepy that this really should be on a major network! I can’t wait to see the whole thing! Check out the sneak preview HERE.

SYNOPSIS: It’s the summer of 1973, and eight year-old Bobby Burke’s father has been MIA in Vietnam for three years. Bobby believes in the power of his magic charm bracelet – called the Safekeeper – to bring his dad back home, but he’s dismayed that his mother, who has begun dating a new man, appears to be moving on with her life. Now, to make matters worse, Bobby has come upon a demonic creature known as The Tolltaker living in a nearby storm drain, who seems intent on snatching the Safekeeper from Bobby’s wrist and keeping his father from him forever.
Director Steve Janas bring the viewer a chilling tale based on the book “The Tolltaker.” This indie short (20 minutes) is both live action and animation. It harbors a sense of dread that is not easy to shake off. There is a fine line between bittersweet moments, paranoia, and out and out terror. The production is a period piece (set in the early 1970s) and is incredibly well done. Check it out HERE.
BLOOD OATH (2010) GETS REVIEWED
0 Comments Published September 25th, 2011 in At The Movies, Current News and Events
BLOOD OATH is an indie backwoods slasher that is brought to us by director David Buchert and producer Robert Ziegler. I gave it a pretty decent score – these first time filmmakers did a pretty slick and clever job on this motion picture. It stars Tiffany Shepis and Tina Krause.
