Very pleased to announce a new review of a project by independent producer John R. Ellis: The Steve Canyon Special Edition DVD! This 1958 television show starred the talented Dean Fredericks as the title character, and you can get some background on this terrific series HERE.

We’ve gotten a smashing amount of hits for posting a review about C.W. Prather’s BALD HEADED BLUES, the documentary on horror host John Dimes. Thank you for that loyal visitors! The 2012 Spooky Movie Film Festival is almost here! You are not going to want to miss it. Not only are there several fantastic horror movies being revealed, it is also the home for two – count them two – world wide movie premieres! On Sunday it’s Eric Thornett’s period piece slasher A SWEET AND VICIOUS BEAUTY starring Sara Cole (DEAD HUNT). Following that is Endlight Entertainment’s NINJAS VS MONSTERS. Both on Sunday and both by incredibly talented artisans.  The entire film festival goes through until October 18th, so get your tickets HERE and be there, be there, BE THERE!!!

Wow, it’s been a while since I have done a serious update – but it is up now! I have a new post production article up on what the next possible step is before going to distribution or self distribution; going to a video post house to get a limited number of copies professionally made. Therefore the spotlight falls on a Mid Atlantic firm known as VIDEO LABS. This company has had a LOT of interaction with independent filmmakers. The link for that article is HERE.

Recent birthdays! We had some late June birthdays and some upcoming July birthdays that deserve a shout out!

 Filmmaker Mitch Klein (Left-June 30th) and actor George Stover (right July 3rd) also have celebrated recent birthdays. Both are super guys and great supporters of Smash or Trash. We wish them the happiest of birthdays!

Special thanks to Leanna Chamish for providing these photos (above). These were taken on location of Wayne Shipley’s new western DAY OF THE GUN.  Some familiar faces could be seen in the crowd and this particular day of shooting revolved around and old-time baseball game. I’m looking forward to more updates about this!

CRAWLER UPDATE: The final timeline is in place and editing is in the works. What does this mean? This means while Mitch Klein concentrates on the visual effects, I have taken it upon myself to work on the credits, the editing, the audio, sound effects, and laying in the soundtrack by Justin Timpane. I showed a very, very rough cut of it to Mitch. We had a good laugh at my animatics (scenes in place for the real visual effects) but I got favorable feedback. Because of this I am tightening up everything. Progress folks – progress!

Those wild slasher movie guys over at The Hysteria Continues (Erik, Joseph, Nathan and Justin) give a little love to an indie slasher I worked on: Timewarp Films’ DEAD HUNT. Kevin Kangas does it again! The thriller GARDEN OF HEDON will premiere on April 26th in Baltimore, Maryland. Co-written and co-produced by Keving Kangas , this taut giallo based in the House of Hedonism stars Richard Cutting and Danielle Lozeau. Check out the cool trailer on Vimeo HERE!
